[2:143] "Thus We have made you [true Muslims - real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) be a witness over you..."
Despite what is going on nowadays with all this hatred against muslims, its rather easy to loose pride of being a Muslim but we must remember what better pride to have than the pride of belonging to the Ummah of Muhammad (sallahu allayhi wa salam). This is all a trial from Allah. Many loose their deen while others try their best to be unnoticed and not associate with Islam. Therefore, its important to adhere to sunnah of the prophet sallahu allayhi wa salam and hold on to our Deen dearly for its the only thing that dignifies us!!
While its frustrating we must remember we belong to the best Nation! They don't understand that but I do and that is what matters. On the day of Judgement we will be the largest group...
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Allah's Apostle said, "Noah will be called on the Day of Resurrection and he will say, 'Labbaik and Sa'daik, O my Lord!' Allah will say, 'Did you convey the Message?' Noah will say, 'Yes.' His nation will then be asked, 'Did he convey the Message to you?' They will say, 'No Warner came to us.' Then Allah will say (to Noah), 'Who will bear witness in your favor?' He will say, 'Muhammad and his followers. So they (i.e. Muslims) will testify that he conveyed the Message. And the Apostle (Muhammad) will be a witness over yourselves, and that is what is meant by the Statement of Allah "Thus We have made of you a just and the best nation that you may be witnesses over mankind and the Apostle (Muhammad) will be a witness over yourselves.
